This program is designed for students directly out of high school or with very few college credits. Please note that it will take four years to complete this program regardless of previous coursework, due to the sequence of nursing courses required for graduation. Transfer students are encouraged to apply for the BS of Nursing Advanced Standing offered in the spring semester. Final decisions on applications are sent approximately two weeks after the TEAS Exam deadline.

Online RN to BS Completion Program

Rolling Admissions
All applicants to the nursing program must meet the safety and technical standards. Applicants for the Distance Education RN to BS Completion Program must hold an unencumbered RN license and current RN registration from the state in which they reside.
Applicants must be graduates of an accredited associate degree nursing program and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The applicant must also show competence in all transfer Science and Nursing courses (the typical student admitted has grades of B or better in all courses). The RN to BS Completion Program consists of 60 college credits beyond the associate degree (26 credits in the major and 32-36 credits of liberal arts and sciences).
Transfer credits will be evaluated after acceptance. Students who enter the SUNY system after fall 2000 must complete all General Education requirements as outlined in the College Catalog, which is available online. A minimum of 30 credits in nursing and 20 credits in liberal arts and sciences may be transferred.

All of the nursing programs are extremely competitive. The typical student admitted has grades of B or better in all courses.

Applicants to the Advanced Standing program must attain a grade of "B" or better in BIO 170 and BIO 171 to be considered. Only two attempts are allowed within 5 years (withdrawals are counted as an attempt). The higher of the two grades will be used in the rubric. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admissions and all applicants will be ranked on the following:

This is not an accelerated nursing program and will take a minimum of three years to complete. Final decisions on applications are sent approximately two weeks after the deadline.
Please note: Completion of the minimum prerequisite courses does not guarantee admission. Applicants are ranked according to grades and exam score.
Beginning August 1, students can apply online for the Fall and Spring semesters.
Incoming Freshman applicants can choose to apply using the SUNY Application or the Common Application.
If you are applying to only SUNY schools, utilize the SUNY Application for all of your applications. If you are applying to both public and private schools, using the Common Application is recommended.
